Style Check / 7 no-nos
Working in an office with no good looking men is bad enough. But neither good looking nor well dressed is a torture. This is in sharp contrast to my workplace in Singapore, where every other guy was wearing a Raoul shirt with french cuffs and a Zegna tie! So instead of filing a Public Interest Litigation for the above, I've decided to list on my blog, the 7 most ghastly style mistakes I've seen the guys here make.
Why 7? Well... seems to be the 'flavour' of the month ;)
#1 - Dont wear trousers so short, that they show all your sock and your hairy leg when you sit! No, waxing your legs or wearing stockings wont help. Just get longer trousers, will ya?
#2 - Wearing a formal jacket over a T-shirt does not constitute 'friday dressing'. It only constitutes 'horrible dressing'.
#3 - No no, wearing a see-through shirt on friday wont help either. Even Shahrukh Khan wasnt able to carry it off. Chances are, neither will you.
#4 - Nice to see you in a pink shirt and a pink tie. Will you borrow my pink handbag and pink nail colour as well dahling?
#5 - Deo and perfume serve different purposes. Please go check up the dictionary if you didnt know that yet.
#6 - Half sleeved shirt and a tie? Are you going door-to-door to sell detergent or other equally irrelevant rubbish?
#7 - Striped trousers with a checkered shirt and checkered tie. Are you freakin nuts or what????

Sniggering in the office here!
Tees and biz jackets is something only women can carry off. (See Eva Mendes in Hitch)
It takes a fairly large amount of flamboyance to carry off half-sleeved shirts and ties. Some men can do it. Said men are European. (But I still laughed at the detergent salesman joke)
The absolute worst fashion faux-pas for men is, however,...brace yourself...
"The comb peeking out of the trouser back pocket" *cringe*
and all these coming from bonitas..who would do anything to dress up like ..aaah.. men.

Well I dont quite agree with #6 ... half sleeves shirt can be carried out with a good tie... most of the times. However it does take fair amount of selection sense to do that.
Are there people who actually do #7 ??? Where were they born?
#5 - Do men use perfumes?? I think they would be referred to as 'Cologne'...
#2 - Again. Most definitely can be carried off....but not a Biz Jacket. It's gotta be a semi-formal jacket with a contrasting Tee...
#1 - Cant stand people who dont know how long their trousers are supposd to be.

Cologne just has a lighter fragrance concentration than perfume.
Men wear either/all of these:
EDT (eau de toilette)
EDC (eau de cologne)
EDP (eau de parfum)
In order of increasing lasting effect.
A deodorant on the other hand, just 'masks' unpleasant odor. That doesnt mean it smells good in the first place!

Trust me, I've seen red socks, so white is not-that-bad!

#1 Trousers... hmmm when was the last time I wore them??? Can't remember.
#2 I agree completely. In fact, wearing a formal jacket, period, is horrible dressing. Have done it about ten times in my life, every time just reinforces this gyan.
#3 See through shirt? Such things exist?
#4 Pink is not a color. Anything other than blue, black, brown or white is not a color. Real men don't wear ties.
#5 Checked the dictionary... "perfume" returned null.
