I have been tagged by Conman to write a story in 55 words. Apparently, its called nanofiction, and has been doing the rounds on blogosphere. Now, I'm no storyteller, but it was still fun trying :)
They took their coffees from the counter. Eyes met; hearts skipped.
Déjà-vu. Ten years back – coffee at college. They remembered and smiled.
She walked to the lift. Sipped her hot coffee. “Ouch”, he said.
He gazed at her, and spilled his. “Ouch”, she muttered.
The lift doors closed on her longest, and shortest love affair.

Like whimsical whispers of the wind, with prayers precocious, it travels fast, and in less than a moment, even prior to the colliding eyelids, between the first and second beats, bites the body bad, in that crevasse left of middle. Shot through the heart, like a bullet, love by another name. She looks. He falls.
